How to Create a Domain Request on Grails.com

·

Why Create a Domain Request

Most founders don’t end up with the name they want. They end up with the name that was available. Compromised domains, awkward extensions, or near-matches that confuse customers and investors. The right name always feels just out of reach - owned, overpriced, or unreachable.

That’s where Grails changes the game. Instead of closing doors, it opens them. Here, you can post your request and connect directly with domain owners open to creative conversations - equity, hybrid, or performance-based deals.

The right domain for your company might not be out of reach, it might just be waiting for the right kind of deal.

1. Register or Log In

Before posting a request, create an account or log in to your dashboard.

  • Click Sign Up
  • Enter your details
  • Confirm your email

✅ The process takes less than a minute.

2. Top Up Credits

Posting a Domain Request requires credits.

You can choose between two options:

  • Subscribe monthly (Starter, Pro, or Elite) - ideal for ongoing access and multiple requests.
  • Buy credit packs - one-off options from Small to Partner Pack, offering bulk discounts.

💡 Tip: Go monthly if you plan to post or edit often. Go one-off if you’re exploring options or running a single campaign.

3. Go to “My Requests”

Once inside your dashboard:

  1. Open the menu
  2. Click My Requests
  3. Select Post Your First Request

This will open the Domain Request form.

4. Fill Out the Domain Request Form

The form helps domain owners understand your project and determine whether their domain might be a fit.

  • Request Title: Summarize what you’re looking for (e.g., “Memorable .com for Fintech Platform”).
  • Description: Explain what kind of domain would fit your business or project.
  • Company Information: Select your stage and target sectors (e.g., Seed, Fintech).
  • TLD Preference: Specify your preferred extension (.com, .ai, .io, etc.).
  • Budget & Deal Structures Considered: Indicate your budget range and select the deal structures you are open to. This helps domain owners understand your expectations and how flexible you are during negotiations.

5. Submit Your Request

When everything is ready, click Post Request.

Your submission will be reviewed by our team within 24 hours to ensure clarity and quality. Once approved, the request becomes visible to verified domain owners who are open to potential collaborations.
