Clipster Moves from .gg to .com, Marking a New Stage of Growth

·

Clipster, the creator marketing platform that connects brands and artists with content creators for performance-based campaigns, has moved from Clipster.gg to Clipster.com.

Founder and CEO Turan Selvi announced the upgrade on X and said the acquisition took 13 months of negotiations.

We’re growing fast and I’d rather own the domain now than pay millions later. - Turan Selvi

Clipster connects brands with a network of creators who publish organic short-form content on TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and other platforms. Brands set a budget and a rate per view, creators join the campaign and post, and the brand pays only for verified views. Clipster handles submissions, approvals, and creator payouts. It also uses AI to scan posts for bot activity and fraud and continues checking live content so only genuine views are counted.

The name Clipster appears to combine “clip,” referring to short-form video content, with the suffix “-ster,” suggesting someone associated with creating or sharing clips.

The company started on .gg, the country code top-level domain for the Bailiwick of Guernsey that has become popular in gaming because of its association with “good game.” More niche extensions can limit a company’s reach and create risks around lost traffic, misdirected emails, and user confusion, since many users still instinctively type .com.

Clipster is now operating at a very different scale. The company says it has paid more than $10 million to creators, delivered over 165 billion views, and run more than 2,850 campaigns, with a network of more than 460,000 creators. Its clients include Sony Music, Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group, the NFL, Polymarket, and Telegram.

It is logical that Clipster wants to own its Exact Brand Match (EBM) domain name. As the brand expands, Clipster.com becomes more valuable, and Turan seems to have realised that waiting would likely mean paying more later. Securing it now gives the company a stronger online presence and a long-term digital asset.
